Magebane
A keeper of lost lore and a priest to forgotten gods,
Magebane invokes unholy rituals to drain the energy of
his enemies and turn it back against them. In less
desperate times, heretics such as Magebane would have
been burned at the stake, but this is not the first
unexpected clemency brought about by the war against
the Hellbourne.

Magina
Less mana burn..T-T,,
wow is this right? Not manaburn, but manaDRAIN! o.o
Much better than magina
Yeah 51 mana per hit is insane, hurts even the largest manapools. NURFBAT
I believe the mana burn stats are wrong.
I was playing him a while today, and he doesn’t drain the mana, it just burns, it could be bugged.
true, it doesn’t drain, only burns
true, it doesn’t burn, only drains
read it carefully. “The drained Mana
combusts,”. that means magebane drains the mana then turns it into additional damage
is the mana rift AoE damage in each point of mana lacking in each hero in the area?
I’m pretty sure Anti-mage’s blink had a range of 600, and this guy’s goes all the way up to 1150… it was good enough at 600, now it’s just ridiculous: one blink and magebane is completely out of harm’s way
No void, mana rift’s AoE dmg doesn’t stack with each hero in the AoE, it does dmg respective to each individual hero. Example: If Pharoah had 0/800 he’d take 880dmg and if Magmus had full mana, he’d take 0 dmg.
it seems like hes ben smaller O_o
I agree the teleport is ridiculous. So fun to play with that teleport though, it’s like hag’s.
omg this is wrong, why th magebane wants mana if he doesnt need mana at all
mantra kills spammers. all you need it str to survive while the mages kill themselves haha
it wasn’t neccessary to boost his abilities, they were already ridiculous O_o
the blink in dota has exactly the same range..
No, the blink in Dota has a range of 600 at all levels, whereas the flash in HoN has a range of 1150 at level 4, which is ridiculous.
Ok.. i think i have a compromise for the blink because it is impossible to kill him late game without stuns or disables. The blink should be like that of the blink dagger with a 3 second window of not being attacked to blink away.magebane does need his blink to kill pplz anyways but not to be invincible late game.
@BigDee you sound so certain about yourself when you are actually a gigantic noob:
http://www.playdota.com/heroes/anti-mage
please read that and tell me the ranges for AM’s blink thanks.
@Sadsythe
a lot of heroes are almost unkillable without disable/stun
and, for the record, id vote to remove the 3 second thing from portal key.. XD
if he drained mana then he would be a good candidate for harkons blade, i think. massive dps and the drained/used mana almost cancels out.
You can drain about 20 mana per hit but harkon cost 150 per hit
and Magebane’s manapool is pitiful already…
not a good idea
scratch that
100mana per hit…
still way more than the amount drained
This hero needs a good nerf tbh.
who is this in dota
Is he quoth “Merhaba”? (greeting word in Arabic)
Stupid OP char, any noob can win with this, can’t believe they nerfed Magmus making the ulti have 2sec channeling and they don’t change shit about MB..
[...] those that have been nerfed: Corrupted Disciple Deadwood Forsaken Archer Madman Magebane Puppetmaster Sand [...]
Magina with AoE ulti.
Harkon’s Blade is now 50 mana per hit
but 0.1.66 patch notes says:
- Attack abilities (Webbed Shot) and attack toggles (Harkon’s Blade) now override attack modifiers (Frostwolf, etc)
Anyway, quite OP hero. Get Elder Parasite and Steamboots ASAP
i hear a lot of complaints with magebane’s teleport bucause it makes him live when he shouldn’t and i agree completely.
why don’t they make his blink only able to target enemies, that way he can only use it to get kills and not to avoid being killd
anti mage in dota fcking terror blades twin
@ Casey
Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of flash? It’s suppose to save you and help you gank. That’s a major nerf if you make flash only targeting enemies.
just bring a character with stun and stop your bitching. he isn’t THAT hard to beat. plus. why would ur team not be rolling with a stun/silence or 2 on characters. its very vital through out the game for such as ganks/prevent ults like glacius stunning chronos in his own bubble to keep him from destroying everyone inside.. plus if you present that much of a threat he will continue to flash step away instead of sticking around for kills limiting his contribution to his team.
Sees absolutely no competitive play. Chronos as is is ridiculously superior. Time Walk (does damage now) is almost as good as Flash, Time Lock > Mana Combustion, Back Track > Master of the Mantra, Chronosphere > Mana Rift.
IMO they should improve Master of the Mantra radius to 900, buff his str gain to 1.8, and have mana combustion deal 80% of mana burned.
Even so, he probably won’t see competitive play.
Guys, I just got a couple of invites from HoN and all of my friends are already playing. What I am saying is that I have invites to give!! But give me your e-mail
xterminator92@gmail.com gimme if u has any sparez invite plz i need just 2(for me one and for friend one)
Or they could just nerf chronos…
Give me a key?
cameldump@gmail.com <— real email
You guys are stupid there is one hero that can take on ANYONE and its Dark lady she can just silence magebane and chronos and boom they can’t blink or chronofield with dark lady also havng a great boost on her base attack
thnk wisely noobs
Lol @ Idiots post above me.
The Dark Lady is trash late game, nullfire blade removes all her buffs and then all she’s left with is her 3rd skill to do damage, meanwhile Magebane is dealing a lot more damage
@ Oodle
Nullfire blade no longer goes through magic immunity, meaning if dark lady has a shrunken head, you can’t dispel dark blades for the duration.
@ oodle
tdl is NOT i repeat not trash late game
tdl can beat chronos if she gets her spin in before chronos does
and against magebane she just needs a riftshard or a item that does massive damage because magebane is VERY squishy
Lots of heroes can escape somehow. Sand wraith/Chronos/Valkyrie/Hag/ can leap or blink away, Scout/nh/fayde/Valkyrie have invis.
So i think magebane is not op. Simply you really need 2 intelligent stuns one after the other 2 keep him from escaping.
answer to Hrmmm
yeah and wratched hag, got flash too, so it doesnt make Magebane the on,ly hero who can escape :=/
