Magmus
The primordial and elemental creature known as Magmus
is no demon, though he fights alongside the Hellbourne.
Rather, he was drawn forth from the earth, as evil calls to
evil and separate flames join to form an inferno. A holdover
from an ancient, cataclysmic age of fire, Magmus dreams of
returning Newerth to ash, lava, and cinder, and he wields his
considerable might and magic in that terrible cause.

Magmus releases extreme heat, toasting the area around him.
The resulting steam damages nearby enemy units over time
and cloaks Magmus from enemy eyes.
Level 1 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 20 magic damage per second to enemies in 300 radius
Level 2 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 40 magic damage per second to enemies in 350 radius
Level 3 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 60 magic damage per second to enemies in 400 radius
Level 4 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 80 magic damage per second to enemies in 550 radius

Cooldown 40/30/20/10 seconds
Channeling time 20/40/60/80 seconds
Upon breaking channel there is a 0.6/0.9/1.2/1.5 second delay before Magmus is revealed
Upon attacking enemy units, Magmus’ flaming mace
instills an intense heat in them. If they die while under
the effects of this intense heat, they explode, damaging
the nearby enemies of Magmus.
Level 1 : After killing a unit deals 90 magic damage in a 400 radius
Level 2 : After killing a unit deals 130 magic damage in a 400 radius
Level 3 : After killing a unit deals 170 magic damage in a 400 radius
Level 4 : After killing a unit deals 220 magic damage in a 400 radius

Ultimate
Magmus channels the power of the lava,
releasing it after a short delay. The resulting lava
grows over time, damaging nearby enemies over
several seconds.
Level 1 : After channeling time deals 110 damage every 0.35 seconds for 2.1 seconds.
Level 2 : After channeling time deals 110 damage every 0.35 seconds for 2.8 seconds.
Level 3 : After channeling time deals 110 damage every 0.35 seconds for 3.5 seconds.

Cooldown 140/120/100 seconds
Channeling time 2 seconds
Radius grows from 300 to 550/675/750 over 2.1/2.8/3.5 seconds

According to one of the sources on our forums, Magmus can kill Kongor at level 7 with his Steam Bath.
He sounds really rigged
Most rigged mo fugger i’ve seen yet in-game.. his ulti is so broken. He was at the top of the ramp and i was approaching bottom of ramp maybe 900 units away from the edge of his ulti and i died in 2 secs from full hp. plx fix or nerf.
yes that is true…….. u can kill kongor at level 7 with Steam Bath
He got patched like 24 hours after release. They just flat changed his steam bath to not effect neutrals.
Really you could kill Kongor at level 5 without really taking damage (and without gear since steam bath is so cheap on mana use!) because the cooldown was less than the channel duration.
The hero was clearly unfinished and untested (it is a beta test after all). There are several display bugs with him, and personally I think his running animation looks wonky and I had no speech for him when given commands.
Is it just me or is it shorter channeltime on his ulti?
He stunned me when I was Legionnare and I did not have time to taunt him between stun release and ulti…
Not only chhanneling time is lessen but the stun time of lava surge has increased before it was 1.4 or 1.7 second of stun and about 3 seconds of channeling for ulti
now its 2.17 seconds of stun and 2 seconds of channeling you have an extra .17 seconds after channeling. I notice also that he wont slow with his ulti, but its still to powerfull
Overpowered.
He was just nerfed, but the real problem wasn’t addressed. You have no chance to stop his ult after he stuns and then… you just die. Can’t blink out w/ dagger because you just took (and are taking damage).
I don’t want people picking him in my games (on my team or on the other team) because his presence just ruins the whole thing.
well… this hero is imba, the only hero i know that can survive is probaly accursed and omniknight (forgot his name). But even if they surive the other ppl will kill them… so change his stun and his ulti channeling.

decrease the 2.17 sec stun to 1.65 like sand king’s stun… it is impossible to stop its ulti after he stuns…
The 2.17 duration stun, is because original SK has a 0.52 fly time delay before his 1.65 sec stun applies.
I think the problem is that when you try the same with SK, you do have 2.17 sec to cast your ulti, but finishing your burrow and starting to cast it takes some milliseconds, besides units near the start of your stun will be stunned a bit earlier, therefore unstunned earlier.
But just my conjecturations ^^U
it’s quite easy to interrupt his ultimate now it’s rather sad.
versus a competent team, I didn’t get a single ulti off except for one (cast and teleport).
He really isn’t that over powered.
He has no defensive ability, so he can;t tank like the electrician/accursed/jereziah.
he has 1 escape ability that’s mediocre.(steam doens;t count, they’ll just use aoe). compared to blink and leap, it’s def lacking. especially given mostof the itme its used as an opener.
and he can’t carry. So late game he becomes quite useless. Nightbound/madman/mq/valk/swift are all viable late game carries given how well they scale with gear. Magmus..not so much.
If you pick magmus, better plan on winning early.

Typo in the intro. His name is Magmus, not Magmar.
Also in the description of Eruption. Channeling is spelled wrong, and the “Radius grows from 300 to 550/675/>550<" should be changed to whatever distance it actually is.
You misspelled channeling for the ultimate. pretty sure you put”Channelinh time 2 seconds”.

This guy is really too OP. U cant disrupt his ulti if u surge correctly due to surge stun duration > ulti channel. Gets u the 1st blood at lvl 6, even can get u double kill 1st blood….
this is assuming of course. that he gets both heroes in the surge. If he does that, you should just all /roll over. There’s no reason he should be able to lava surge both of u with proper spacing. The other hero should be easy to interrupt.
and his ult is physical dmg. armor ftw!
but seriously…i have probably died to more fluky 4x multicasts then magmus ult.
what the best item build for magmus ?
probably the easiest outplayed class in HoN, 2 nerfs since introduction now makes Magmus very hard to play well…which is a good thing, weeds out bad players

3v3 we were for some reason all melee vs all range
i cant remember to much bout my team but i think chronos laned bot vs arachna
me mid vs ¨valk (constant invis and 80 dam/sec)
and some tarder top vs plague rider
i farmed better than valk (lvl 7 vs lvl 9)
and i went behe heart (axe and heart-4300…)
and just some bracers
i got first blood and first tower then i went roaming
game ended – magmus lvl 20 all my team 15
rest lvl 10 went like… 4 hat-tricks out of 4 ultis
soory to write my life story in here but… i just wanted to tell you bout my FIRST ever game with magmus
(btw he is hard to play but if u play him right he is “OP”)
