Sand Wraith
Legends long said that when the sirocco howls off the Great Waste, it is screaming of a Sand Wraith. In the past years, the legend has been borne out, as this ancient evil has glided through Newerth, leaving curses, confusion, and despair in his dusty wake.

is this Spectre? lol played him today (Oct 10) and man did i play him well but im unfamiliar with his build. anyone know?
Indeed it is Macbeast
@Macbeast
Spectre sound have items like:
Geometer’s Bane
Mock of Brilliance
maybe
Nullfire Blade
Geometer’s Bane and his ulti stops pushes, (7 clones if your in a 5v5 game). Also ulti and Manifest than using Geometer’s Bane can grant you and easy kill to a forester.
Your clones gets the effect of Mock of Brilliance. Ulti and Geometer’s Bane during a clash can grantee some random kills.
Nullfire Blade just helps with the chashing, the mana burn is an added plus.
Hope this helps.
how much damage do the illusions do? in dota they take 200% and deal 40%, is it the same in HoN?
Chronos would eat this guy alive late game…
But he’s more useful as a team player than chronos…he can slow down ppl for teammates to kill
Yeah… chronos is the best counter hero for this guy… maybe pandamonium as well… I think… I just freakin’ hate his disperse ability…
ive heard the illusions take 3.5 x normal dmg
haha reminds me of Gaara from Naruto lol
“Your clones gets the effect of Mock of Brilliance.”
Does Mock of Brilliance stack?
Macbeast here again in Nov 24th, i had a good night sleep after going 18/3/20 with this madness hero. im still getting the hang of him but im questioning on the builds, ive been trying this tank build that basically reduces the damage then with dissipation you take like no damage, well its been working out so far so cya guys.
all I do is creep like hell and teleport to a battle to help and kill. If u do fine on 15 u will be teleporting and killing any hero, u just have to teleport on him and slow + diffusal. Ban him on bd.
Early – treads/vang/grey shield
mid – difusal/lifesteal/radi
end – behe hearth/manta – dissipation owns!
One of the strongest end game carriers with mb, chronos, mali and dark lady and more helpful to group than all of these ones.
The lightning is pretty awesome too. I guarantee some random kills in mid game with it. I think the illusions trigger the effect too and the lightning bounces everywhere. Diffusal is awesome aswell for ganking jungle with the ulti. In easy games I usually go vanguard but in normal games I just go with the grey shield most of the time, depending on the farm.
what is the other build to this hero??
spectre..?
I don’t know why they nerfed Manifest to get rid of all illusions spawned by mirage..
Seemed like Sand Wrath was already hard enough to carry with, given the likes of cronos and madman..
I don’t get it.. he was perfectly balanced..
this hero if its combo with dark lady ulti should go easy because, dark lady ulti is reduce the enemy vision to 400 radius, and the spec 2nd skill will deal dmg when there no alied within 400 radius,so i think is the best combo i get to figure, with the item bulid i have no idea,go ask som ppl with their oppinion.fyi its also depend on who taking control of the hero.1 think i hate this hero i because its damn hard to farm.dang with it
@whoami how excactly is that a combo?
you don’t really need to reduce someones vision to 400 if they’re already far away from their team, tahts just useless.
DL’s ulti slows, sure, but with deserts curse you have no problems chasing anyways, so it’s not needed.
Closest thing i could see to this beeing anywhere near usefull, is to pop mirrage, then manifest at one hero, and let dark lady “blind” whichever other enemy hero is closest to the one sand wrath kills. But this is very far fetched.
I may just miss the geniousness of your combo, but to me it looks like Bulls*** sorry to say, please prov eme wrong, i would be delighted.
If you wanna go combo, give him someone that can babysit him early on. thats all he needs.
Why do they keep nerfing sand wrath. He was mediocre to begin with. If you want to nerf a carry nerf madman.
They did nerf madman, they lowered the cd for his stalk ability
True damage to magic damage makes a bigger difference then 1 second more cooldown.
I just dont see the reasoning behind these 2 big nerfs, he wasn’t imba.
haha why HON so fail @ new patch…
no wonder i did less dmg vs jungle hero…. no true dmg… wtf retard hon
Un-nerf plz. Sure, Sand Wraith was played a lot competitively, but so was Mercurial, and she wasn’t broken there. Just buff a couple of the other carries in the game and you will start to see diversity. The reason Mercurial/SW got picked so much is because they were by far the best carry, not that they were the best hero. This nerf just completely ruined SW…
lolz is fucking right…
s2 made this hero into bullshit with the nerf…
and yes he WASNT imba, i had to farm alot before he was fed enough to be the carry!
But now not worth to pick up… now hes dumbshithero
spectre
He is not worthless after the magic to true nerf… Got 27/2 yesterday in a team with withtwo lvl 15 noobs (I were lvl 25) And Chronos was on the other team. I raped him though (he wasnt a noob). Dissipate isnt his best ability, desolate is, scale that and his ult illusions and he is one hell of a hard carry. (I still want true dmg though XD)
true to magic that is*
What item build are you supposed to get for this guy?
A basic item build that works ok for me, start with loggers hatchet, iron buckler and a health potion, while lane feeding, buy two duck boots (from th outpost) then get gloves of the swift( outpost) get steamboots, nullfireblade, frostburn, then either behe heart, wingbow, or savage mace, thist build is good for longer battles, and lots of feeding, having a good electritian is good to lane with, my opinion
You dont need nullfire blade tintiddle, if u get frostburn, you will be fine. Nullfire blade is OPTIONAL
Well u could also go for hobl early on too
Yeah sorry but s2 have completely ruined sw. he was never imbalanced its almost impossible to get kils with him anymore without ksing. if the enemy team all get hobl he is absolutely chocked and useless. his strength agilit and intelligence gain per level are Way too low thanks s2 for ruining a perfectley balanced hero. instead of nerfing sw should have nerfed chronus or madman you guys are so clueless.
my 1st comment here was failure, cant be use or hard to use.but today i just discovered new trick using SW,the 1st skill can be cancel!!…
how im gonna explan to all,its like SW has cast skill but he can pull back the skil, and it looks damn nice, the sand like pouring out..plss tell me the trick
Frostburn When CHasing

ROFL stop dreaming please, electric does not stack with his ultimate images, you’re a fool to think that works.
Anyways, like what someone mentioned above, what you just need is a good baysitter, wards for your save farming, a good map sense for you to help out your team when u have your ulti up when they gank and go for defensive before going offensive if you have trouble farming.
most people tend to aim for mock of briliance 1st before any item. Well, that’s only possible if u get the 3800 item before the 20 minute mark, 25 at latest i guess but if later dont bother, u’ll be a waste to the team.
if u want to tank and dissipate for the team, str steamboots, a black legion thingy, probably a powersupply? would be enough, if not several fortified bracelets. Only noobs will try to skip these early cheap items, not knowing they’re cheap and good way to stay alive.
Offensive wise, if you want to tank a bit more and be offensive at the same time frostburn, frost wolf’s skull would come in handy for slowing the enemies globally and you’re able to tank at the same time. Geometer’s bane and behemoth’s heart would be seful if u plan to be focus to use dissipate as the main dps you deal on the other team If you plan to go a bit more on the offensive side on the dps side, there are several choices you can go for, Mock of brilliance well is for aoe, nullfire blade, shield breaker, brutalizer, savage mace and for survival purposes hp steal items, at best symbol of rage = D
The dps items i suggested are optional, for me I believe that all sand wraith needs is just str and agi stats, which allows his images to last longer, dissipate more aoe damage to the enemy team, and dps more as agi only adds damages and attack speed, mana burn for his images. Well brutalizer and savage mace’s occasional stuns are included in a way = /
You can never forget the barbed armour too btw. A both defensive and offensive purpose item which we all hate to go up against
