The primordial and elemental creature known as Magmus
is no demon, though he fights alongside the Hellbourne.
Rather, he was drawn forth from the earth, as evil calls to
evil and separate flames join to form an inferno. A holdover
from an ancient, cataclysmic age of fire, Magmus dreams of
returning Newerth to ash, lava, and cinder, and he wields his
considerable might and magic in that terrible cause.

Lava Surge
Riding on lava, Magmus surges toward a target location,
damaging and stunning enemy units in his path.
Level 1 : Teleports self to location dealing 100 magic damage and stunning all in his path for 2.17 seconds. Range 400
Level 2 : Teleports self to location dealing 160 magic damage and stunning all in his path for 2.17 seconds. Range 500
Level 3 : Teleports self to location dealing 220 magic damage and stunning all in his path for 2.17 seconds. Range 600
Level 4 : Teleports self to location dealing 280 magic damage and stunning all in his path for 2.17 seconds. Range 700
Mana cost 140
Cooldown 11 seconds
Comment:One of my favorite stuns, and it has a cool animation too. This stun may be used to start ganks, escape, and chase.
Use it wisely… choose whether or not a stun is important or an ultimate. This can also be used to set up your ult.
Steam Bath
Magmus releases extreme heat, toasting the area around him.
The resulting steam damages nearby enemy units over time
and cloaks Magmus from enemy eyes.
Level 1 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 20 magic damage per second to enemies in 300 radius
Level 2 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 40 magic damage per second to enemies in 350 radius
Level 3 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 60 magic damage per second to enemies in 400 radius
Level 4 : Magmus goes stealth dealing 80 magic damage per second to enemies in 550 radius
Mana cost 60/50/40/30
Cooldown 40/35/30/25 seconds
Channeling time 20/40/60/80 seconds
Upon breaking channel there is a 0.6/0.9/1.2/1.5 second delay before Magmus is revealed
Comment:Can be used for farming but not suggested. Used to go invis if needed while waitin for teammates to help. But AOE spells. Too bad it wont affect neutrals anymore.
Volcanic Touch
Upon attacking enemy units, Magmus’ flaming mace
instills an intense heat in them. If they die while under
the effects of this intense heat, they explode, damaging
the nearby enemies of Magmus.
Level 1 : After killing a unit deals 90 magic damage in a 400 radius
Level 2 : After killing a unit deals 130 magic damage in a 400 radius
Level 3 : After killing a unit deals 170 magic damage in a 400 radius
Level 4 : After killing a unit deals 220 magic damage in a 400 radius

Cooldown n/a
Comment:Great for farming and pushing. And killing multiple heroes with low hp that are within the radius. For example: after your ultimate… early game they would usually be super low. Most of the time… Double Kills

Eruption
Magmus channels the power of the lava,
releasing it after a short delay. The resulting lava
grows over time, damaging nearby enemies over
several seconds.
Level 1 : After channeling time deals 110 damage every 0.35 seconds for 2.1 seconds.
Level 2 : After channeling time deals 110 damage every 0.35 seconds for 2.8 seconds.
Level 3 : After channeling time deals 110 damage every 0.35 seconds for 3.5 seconds.
Mana Cost 175/250/325
Cooldown 140/120/100 seconds
Channeling time 2 seconds
Radius grows from 300 to 550/675/550 over 2.1/2.8/3.5 seconds

Ok. This is pretty much the “BETA” guide. Why?
He is OWNAGE. PERIOD.
He used to be able to kill Kongor with Steam Bath @ Early Game. Till they nerfed it.
Still his ult is tooooooooo OP.
But ANYWAY.
Here is the Skill Build,
I usually get 1 steam bath at least for safety reasons.
You can just SURGE out of the place IF you’re trapped.

Magmus. The “IMBA/OP” Hero
Lanes:
Preferrably Bot Solo for Legion or Top Solo for Hellbourne.
If against 2 range, seek help from a ranged ally to come aid you. Preferably one that can stun or chase or disable.
FARMING:
You can use Surge together with Touch to push and get more gold out of the creeps:
1. Surge the ranged creep
2. Kill the ranged creep and Touch will deal damage to melee creeps.
3. Hit 1 of the low melee creeps and it should result in a wiped out creep wave.
Last Hit is important early game to push.
And For Killing? I wouldnt suggest going in yet. Wait until you have your Ultimate.
BUT when you do have your ult. Use Lava Surge to get into the middle of the enemies while stunning them then cast your Ulti. And if mana permits… Stun again and keep hitting.
When you have your Portal Key, Blink + Eruption. =]
And if the other team usually has blinkers, Lava Surge + Eruption + Blink + Hit/Surge.
Estimate where the enemy is going if you cant find him where you blinked… keep chasing if it’s safe and you’ll probably find him and be able to stun one more time.

Also go for Demonic Breastplate if you want… feel free. although not really needed.
ITEM BUILD
For early game survivability:
Extra Hp and damage early game
Get this if you’re up against melee heroes and tanks
Now most people go for Enhanced Marchers but this gives you better lane control and pushes and fast chasing speed. You can already Surge out of the way if needed.
well since your ult doesnt slow anymore. this gives slow and armor =] cast after ult or before if u have time
So you can successfully pull off your Combos =]
Gives you awesome ganking capabilities…
turn on bkb + blink + ult + hit/stun, blink if needed hit…
You’ll most likely get more kills than one considering your Volcanic Touch spreads damage in an AOE plus your ult

Your guide is decent but getting a portal key is almost useless considering that your ult has a 2 second cast time. You would have to blink in, ult, and then lava surge and you lose a lot of your damage on ult that way.
justin i apologize, but your an idiot. ult then blink dip. also, you blink in because almost anything can interrupt the ult, play long enough and it will really piss you off that anytime you try to ult you just get stun raped and killed. nuff said

I agree with most of your guided except for the portal key. Like justin said, blinking in, ulti, and lavasurging doesn’t disregard the fact that you aren’t safe for the 2 seconds of channeling… fix the guide plz.
You ult first, then blink. There’s a two second channel for the actual spellcast, but afterwards, you’re free to move around. Channel your ult from a safe distance, and as soon as the first pulse begins to go out, then blink. This circumvents the need for a bkb early on. Blinking first is… laughable.
Im sure he’s saying Cast ult from a safer distance and then blink into the center they wont see it comming, and if they run surge them.
Why not strart ult then teleport? lol…

You guys don’t seem to get the message. Blink rush is a very strong build if you use it properly. The correct way is to Use your ulti, instantly blink in when the 2 second channeling is done.No damage is wasted, all damage is hit on the opponents and your ulti doesnt get cancelled by some gay ass stunner.
What is Sand Storm and Epicenter? I see these in the skills progression list, but Magmus doesn’t have those abilities. Where are they from, and if it is a mistake, what should the actually abilities be (I’m guessing it’s supposed to be Steam Bath and Eruption respectively)?

portal key is a must and if done correctly you dont miss a pulse on your enemies.

Nice guide but some off your items are abit random. I personally don’t think you’d need Shrunken Head or Null Stone. They cost quite a lot and are not really the best items since you already have portal key. You’d most likely run out of mana before you can use Restoration Stone and cast ulti again. The gank would probably be over after the first ulti anyway.
Why not try lifesteal in this build? Magmus has one of the best farming skills. Just pop in the forest during mid game and farm away for a bit. He can easily be the carry of the team.
All and all good guide. I’m surprised to see at least one decent guide in this web.
By the way, I agree with maxing sandstorm last. Its pretty useless except of evading a gank. Really the only people who max it are noobs who can’t creep.

guys, this guide is quit nice but i would skill on lvl 2 and levl 4 stat bonus to get more mana for your nice stun skill.
you can roam when u get levl 3 because ur stun damage is soo high and ur a very hard to counter with another damage dealer. easy kills in early, imba ulti in late.
u dont need rewresher cause the cooldown is low later. get staff of master to improve the ultimate.
portal key is main item.
stay on shift, activate ulti and portal key in.
all damage ion enemy. if they run use ur stun.
1. bottle., nice for roaming
2. boots
3. bracer if u got problems or died / portal key
4. portal key or get satff of master
u dont need any more items now. ifyou dont own / won alrdy. youre lost ^^

lol dude the portal key is for u to, go into a safe spot near ur enemies, cast ur ulti, then blink in right after ur ulti has been cast. u can also use it for the element of surprise. but thats gay
Those who don’t believe this build means they don’t know how to play dota.., MAGMUS of HON is SANDKING of DOTA.., Casting ulti then blink is the best smartest strategy.., If ur too afraid that u’ll blink while having the eruption then used steam.., as the ulti goes by
The Volcanic Touch is a strict farming/semi-pushing ability, it should NOT be skilled at all if you’re into teamplaying.
With Magnus you do want to lasthit and creep well UNTIL you get your portal key, after that your teammates should do all the farming, however the Volcanic Touch may be used in some strategies but in the general way of playing, you should skill steambath;
Stun, Steam, Stun, Steam, Stun, Ulti, Stun, Steam, Steam, attributes, attributes,..
The steambath on level 4 has a short cooldown, which makes it an extremely useful invisible spell, for battles, for escaping.
You MAY even farm with it in some games, to be quite honest you MAY farm with it really well in any game that’s so bad that you would want to skill Volcanic Touch before the Steambath.
With the steambath you may also dodge certain spells since the stealth is instant.
Ranged attacks will be dodged if the projectile is in the air when you apply your Steam Bath.
I’ll have to be completely honest and say I’m not quite sure if the Steam Bath works exactly as Sand Storm (dota version), in which the Pharaos ministuns won’t effect you and Valkyries stun won’t stun you but dmg only.

I don’t get something here. IF his stun does as much stun as it says it does, 2.17 seconds, and assuming somebody hit ult immediately after stunning an enemy, wouldn’t it be impossible to cancel his ult? They are stunned for 2.17 seconds and you channel for 2. Yet I always have mine interrupted hehe. Is there a way to queue commands like in dota with shift?
All the guys who wrote negative comments are stupid because they dont know how to use magmus correctly…the perfect item to use this hero is using a portal key(blink)…ill explain to you how to do it…first look for the right position to the enemy where the enemy is, click eruption(ulti)wait for the the second pulse(it is when magmus raise his hands twice…just observe!!)then if the second pulse is done blink to desired position of the enemy…gets…=P

I just wanna say yhat if you do ulti then do the surge (the stun). The ulti stops and you are no longer doing the ulti, that is why portal key is a must have on Magmus.
Click Ulti, HOLD SHIFT, Clock Portal key, Choose Location for port. You were holding shift…Right?
Shift ques actions, so imediatly when the channeling is done, you will port in instntly, not wasting even .1 seconds of pure ulti power. >:)
magmus ulti is difficult because you want to surge out every pulse for the full damage, but the 2 sec costing is a biznatch so you need to cast then blink. Sure you don’t get as much damage because you have to subtract 1 pulse while you cast then blink in.B ut his ulti isn’t always used to kill you can use it to slow down a teams push and have them retreat. It’s a versatile ulti. Also to his passive skill in team battles its better to micro the creeps so you try to spread a 220 dmg in the battle.
funny how many people keep posting the same stupid comments, even tho shift queueing has already been explained at least twice. If you dont get blink on mag u suck with him, end of story.
shift queue guys.. you won’t miss ANY pulses when you blink in with it.
also, maxing sand storm is also very useful early in terms of harassing and farming. unless you’re laning with heroes with aoe stuns such as pyro, pest and behemoth, you will want to max this out asap.
I don’t get why people say volcanic touch isnt good to get. if your a good magmus then you should it’s helpful in team battles as you micro the creeps doing the dmg all around.

I don’t get it either,”pros”…His ulti is a ground attack,when u use it the ground in front o u erupts…if you can channel it here and blink/use it there,then thats an exploit bd should be fixe…same as in DotA
guys theres one thing bad about ult+blink though….if you blink while its still channeling its gonna stop so if you blink in WHEN the erupting happens your gonna have to waste some pulses:D
