Valkyrie guide by zskawaii
he works basically like priestess of the moon.

Her Stats:
Attack Type=Ranged
Attack Damage=38-49
Attack Range=600
Movementspeed=300
Turnrate=320
Armor=0.59
MagicArmor=5.5
Strength=17
Agility=20
Intelligence=17
Strength per level=1.9
Agility per level=2.8
Intelligence per level=1.6
Her Spells:
Call of the Valkyrie

Valkyrie calls forth several Battle Maidens to damage nearby enemies.
Level 1 : Deals 75 magic damage to targets in radius around self with
60% chance to hit targets outside the 600 radius but inside a 900 radius
Level 2 : Deals 150 magic damage to targets in radius around self with 60% chance to hit targets outside the 600 radius but inside a 900 radius
Level 3 : Deals 225 magic damage to targets in radius around self with 60% chance to hit targets outside the 600 radius but inside a 900 radius
Level 4 : Deals 300 magic damage to targets in radius around self with 60% chance to hit targets outside the 600 radius but inside a 900 radius
Mana cost 100/120/140/160
Cooldown 12 seconds
Deals an additional 37.5/75/112.5/150 magic damage to one random target in 200 radius
My thoughts: a great nuking spell for group fights as well as one on one as it has a chance to hit your enemy twice!
Javelin of Light

Valkyrie hurls a Javelin of Light toward a target location.
The first enemy hit will be damaged and stunned.
Stun duration depends on the distance the Javelin has traveled.
Level 1 : Deals 90 damage to first target to pass within a 140 radius of projectile. Target is stunned based on projectile distance.
Level 2 : Deals 180 damage to first target to pass within a 140 radius of projectile. Target is stunned based on projectile distance.
Level 3 : Deals 270 damage to first target to pass within a 140 radius of projectile. Target is stunned based on projectile distance.
Level 4 : Deals 360 damage to first target to pass within a 140 radius of projectile. Target is stunned based on projectile distance.
Mana cost 100
Cooldown 25 seconds
Stun duration increases by 0.5 seconds for every 150 units the projectile has traveled. Stuns for a minimum of 0.5 seconds and a maximum of 5 seconds.
My thoughts: a great ambushing spell as well as perfect for head on fights. Early game this attack will give you the edge on your opponent combined with call of the valkyrie to damage your opponent significantly for an easy kill or to set yourself up to chase him down with the aid of your leap.
Courageous Leap

Valkyrie leaps forward, charging to battle. Her courage inspires nearby allies when she lands, granting increased movement and attack speed.
Level 1 : Leaps 630 units forward. +4% Movement speed and 4% Attack speed to nearby allies.
Level 2 : Leaps 690 units forward. +8% Movement speed and 8% Attack speed to nearby allies.
Level 3 : Leaps 780 units forward. +12% Movement speed and 12% Attack speed to nearby allies.
Level 4 : Leaps 840 units forward. +16% Movement speed and16% Attack speed to nearby allies.
Mana cost 75
Cooldown 40/35/30/25 seconds
My thoughts: this is such a great spell to chase down any opponent, it makes you faster and allows you to catch up to a fleeing opponent to hit them with your javelin or your call of the valkyrie.
Valkyrie’s Prism

Valkyrie bends light itself, shrouding all allied heroes on the map in stealth
Level 1 : Grants Stealth to all allies for 7 seconds. 2.5 second fade time
Level 2 : Grants Stealth to all allies for 9 seconds. 2 second fade time
Level 3 : Grants Stealth to all allies for 11 seconds. 1.5 second fade time
Mana Cost 200/250/300
Cooldown 160 seconds
My thoughts: this spell will save you or your team mates or set yourself up for an ambush. Early game i would sacrifice leveling this spell at level 6 to make room for your other 3 more important spells.
Item Build:
1. Duck boots
and Pretender’s crown
(2 sets)
2. Runes of blight
and Mana potion
3. Marchers
then eventually agility Steam boots
4. Bolstering armband
+ Might blade
= Hack
5. Fleetfeet
+ Quickblades
= Slash
6. Hack n Slash recipe
7. Dancing Blades
8. Steamstaff
9. Wingbow Recipe
My thoughts:
I chose Hack n slash because of the maim chance which will slow your opponent down as well as the added HP which you need. This is a great compliment to your skills as you can easily nuke your enemy, chase him down with leap , hopefully maim him, and since you are going to be much faster than he is you can keep shooting him comfortably with a chance to maim him yet again.
Wingbow is a great item overall, as the increased damage and attack speed will greatly compliment your maiming ability and your damage output as a whole. By the time you make it to Wingbow you are probably one of your teams best assets.
Some people tend to avoid Hack n Slash and go straight to Wingbow, but if you didn’t farm well enough at the start, saving up for it could take a while, leaving you with mediocre beginner items. By opting for Hack n Slash, you get the bonus of HP, adding survivability in fights as well as the chance to slow down your fleeing opponents earlier on.
Skill Build:
1. Javelin
2. Call
3. Javelin
4. Call
5. Call
6. Leap
7. Javelin
8. Call
9. Javelin
10. Leap
11. Prism
12. Leap
13. Leap
14. Stats
15. Stats
16. Prism
17 onwards = you can either continuously add to stats or finish off prism ( i usually wait until im level 25 to finish off prism)
How to make the most of this build:
You would level up the primary damage spells but try not to use them just yet until you have leap because chances are without having leap you’ll simply scare them off with the amount of damage you can do and you wouldn’t be able to chase them down. With leap you can set yourself up to stunning them with javelin to primarily do damage, follow it up with Call and shoot them a few times and as they run away you simply leap, shoot and chase them down.
Later in the game you would encounter much more group fights so the best option is to unleash a javelin in the general direction of the group fight, hopefully hitting an enemy and stunning them rendering them useless then Calling in the group and start shooting at the enemy your teammates are focused on, hopefully maiming them. As they try to flee you leap and continue shooting and hopefully your call and/or javelin is reloaded so you can use it again. If the situation gets sticky use Prism and RUN.
i played followin’ this guide with the valkirie and i owned everyone when im just a newbie
around 20-1 gainst 1700+ ppl

Hi there.
Cant help to drop a little comment since ive been playing Valk and Mirana for ages now.
Your skill build is okay, but and theres a lot of different itembuilds that works better depending on who you’re facing and how well youre doing.
You should only get H&S if you die a lot.
When i play Valk ive usually farmed around 3k-4k gold by my first return to fountain.
Then just build thunderclaw which imo is a far better item on Valk.
Best skillbuild is:
1.Javelin
2.Leap
3.Call
4.Call
5.Call
6.Javelin
7.Call
8.Javelin
9.Javelin
10.Leap
11.Prism
12.Prism
13.Leap
14.Leap and so on.
This way, with a bit of harassing first, then javelin-leap-and call with proper positioning,
But dont level it before midgame when people tend to gang up.
you can take out weak heroes instantly from lvl 5 or 7. I tend to go mid lane solo and get firstblood/bloodlust at lvl 5 (before your opponenent gets his ultimate)
Also, the best use for Prism isnt escaping, its setting up ganks, if you use this skill right and have a team who plays together, you will win 90% of all clashes, and wont need it to escape
I liked the guy, but sometimes, when you are owning, you wont stay with just a wingbow and H&S, you need something else, so i usually make a thunderclaw, (boots = steamboots), daemonic breastplate, then upgrade the claw, to charged hammer, the empty spot, i use to token of life, gem, or something like this
Item build:
(Starting itens): 1 health potion, 2 mana potion and 1 set of runes of the blight
OR:
1 soulscream ring, 1 set of runes of the blight
(Early game): i get my steamboots, get 2 soulscream rings, and proceed to slash, when i farmed up enough, i start do make my wingbow
(Mid game): i complete my Hack&Slash, then i make my thunderclaw, and go get something like 5k of gold (sell 1 soulscream ring to get the thunder claw)
(Late game): sometimes the game dont get to this point, but…
i proceed to upgrade the claw to charged hammer, then i left 1 space for things like: bound eye, life token, assasins shroud, shaman’s headress (sell the other soulscream ring to get this)
If you get all of this, its GG, just try to dont die, if you die more than 2, you better do your way
is my ‘guide’ good? if yes, im thinking to make a magebane guide, its simple, most people should know it, but i want to
Sorry for saying this…
but ur guide is somewhat shitty…
H&S??!! WTF!!!
u wont be needing the slow IMO
charged hammer & wingbow FTW!! is still the best item for valk…
BUT… if there wud be manta style out there…
i thinks it’ll be better nullfire(purge)
+ manta = BLOODBATH!!!
its situational, if u havent managed to farm up enough for a charged hammer go for H&S. Still if you have enough money might as well get H&S, Charged Hammer and Wingbow but i agree that Charged Hammer is by far the better item to go for over H&S
I disagree Killa if you are getting harassed/ganked, thunderclaw/charged hammer would be more effective at helping harass back, and last hit more for better farming.
Yea…I agree with this guide being shitty, I would go with daniel’s skillbuild. Early game when I’m around lv 5-7 I would just rack up kills with enhanced marchers and a bottle.
Try to gank a little early on as poeple still have low hp and cant really fend off a long stun and a high dmg nuke from ur call. You should only gank like this if ur slightly a higher lv than every1 else after soloing mid, along with good javelin aim.
If you get these kills early-mid game, there should be no problem getting a charged hammer late game..also if ur really rich, frostwolf’s skull would be pretty effective in ganks along with providing you with hp and a bigger mana pool.
hack and slash? i’d rather get better orb effects items, charged hammer, shieldbreaker, nullfire blade. all of them serves a better purpose, if you want that ms and as, get geo’s bane.
why not get nullstone as well, since it can block targetted spells. most stuns are targetted. being able to block them, you might just kill the opponent or escape.
seriously, what are your PSR? sounds like a bunch of 1100+ players acting pro here.
@daniel. has it ever occured to whatever brains you have, lets say you’re soloing mid, with heroes like, soulstealer and thunderbringer, they will make you cry for the early game. and with just a lvl 1 javelin 90 damage? does it really matter?
soulstealer gonna rape you inside out, tb gonna blast you. and you cant get really close with lvl 1 leap either as i assume you might wanna get a long duration stun with the javelin. played for ages? more like a week.
get at least lvl 2 javelin. you’re playing mid, leap doesnt really help you until per say lvl 6.
As ppl are allready saying; item and skill build depends on who you are facing. Example, if your facing vindicator or archer in your lane, I would consider taking up a rank of leap at lvl 2, since this is great for getting away from the archer stun or the vindi drain/dot (due to low mana cost that is)++. If you are beeing focused by your enemies, hp is quite usefull, so h&s can be a decent choice imo. I kinda like geometers bane better though, because of the survivability, overall stats, and the fact that you can gain line of sight for your javelin using your illusions (also great for taking down the freaking eng turret fast.) If you aren’t in need of hp then it’s needless to say wingbow and thunder claw/hammer are great items.
Everything in this game is built around the situation, so dont stay with one plan and one plan only. Consider your enemies, and teammates, before you make a decision. Just my thoughts ^^
“i played followin’ this guide with the valkirie and i owned everyone when im just a newbie
around 20-1 gainst 1700+ ppl
wll done guy”
1700+ people who were dead? stop the lies, fool.
valk guide without “bottle” or “gank” MENTIONED? good luck..
well my items are bottle, charged hammer, steamboots(agility),desolator(i dont know what its called in HoN) and thats pretty much it when i got more money i just buy w/e
@wazza
has it ever occured to whatever brains you have that valkyrie should never be a mid hero?
as for the skill build:
1. leap
2. arrow (javelin)
3. starfall (call)
4. starfall
5. starfall
6. arrow (or ulti, depends on what your team is doing)
7. starfall
then pick whatever skill suits your situation. valkyrie can fit almost any role in a team.
The skill builds that has always worked for me are:
1.Javelin
2.Leap
3.Javelin
4.Call
5.Javelin
6.Call
7.Javelin
8.Call
9.Call
10.Prism
11.Leap
12.Leap
13.Leap
14.Prism
15.Stats
16.Prism
17-25.Stats
Javelin are way better for ganking IF u know how to use it right. Stun enemy from afar, leap up to them, stand next to them use call and shoot them to their doom..
Nice guide but i prefer to lvlup leap (atleast 1 lvl) early game for escaping cuz valkyrie is kinda squishy early game
In my opinion Javelin is good for stuns, so i get it first, then call and leap
@ Wazza OFC theres better mid heros than Valkyrie, have I ever stated otherwise?
-Her power in laning mid is only that she has rather good runecontrol. Which is also why bottle should be her first item if laning mid.
My reason for playing her mid, if the lineup allows it, is that with bottle and good javelin aim Valkyrie is an awsome ganker early game.
As for your comment about maxing javelin before call – I find it somewhat below me to even comment on it, however I will lecture you anyway!
First of all Call is much more reliable and has a far lower CD.
The damage output is also higher lvl 4: 450 vs 360 says all.
Javelin’s main purpose is the stun which is the same at all levels, however the damage provided is still very usefull so therefore you max it AFTER call!
Last and not least, Call is an AOE spell which allows for dealing damage to several heroes istead of only 1 target. This can be very usefull when ganking lanes with 2 heroes and may result in 2 kills instead of 1.
Shut you trash mouth and learn how to play noob!
@ daniel
yes call of the valkyrie is a aoe spell but in mid it is useless.
if your in mid level up spear of light because there is only one hero in mid (if not they are complete retards) so there for the spell is useless. yess call of the valkyrie is good for killing creep waves too but when you get close enough your already half dead from the enemy hero. so i ask you daniel, why get call of the valkyrie in mid rather then spear of light? call of the valkyrie is a lane spell. basicly so you can babysit. only these heroes but… magebane, tdl,(the dark lady)chronos, scout,(only if he’s playing good) nh,(night hound) fayde,(although a good fayde should be mid) bh,(blood hunter and also should be in mid if good)and last but not least, THE MADMAN
My skill build is usually
Leap
Jav
Call
Call
Call
Jav
Call
JAV
Jav
Prism
Prism
As far as items I get phase boots, 2x soulscrem rings, bottle(if mid), nullstone, geobane (games usually over shortly after geobane) and crit shards..
Im not a fan of charged hammer and I dont think i ever will be its nice.. if they dont have any single target stuns or annoying spells.. i skip the nullstone but that almost never happens.. so my item build is always as above.
For all you maxing jav first over call.. i dont get it.. Call does more damage and jav still stuns for same duration no matter what level it is.. so why not max call first which will ALWAYS hit?
@ pumah i max out javilin of light cause it does 360damage when maxed out! and if your mid they are usualy squishy mid so that would half kill them!!!!!!! if your laned get call of the valkyrie because you have a chance of hitting 2 heroes instead of 1 in mid(thats if they were melee).
