HoN guide: Ward locations
Why bother with wards ?
200 gold for 2x Sight wards or 2x Revelation .

A small price to pay for Map control which….. ultimately leads to winning games.
Where do i put wards?
The Teal circles represent ward Locations.
The General idea is to cover Rune locations + Jungling spots + Choke points
Early to mid game you obviously want rune control.
Mid to Late game once towers have been pushed you want to start warding the jungling spots.
When warding allways try and place the ward on the highest cliff possible, greater AOE sight is given the higher the ward:
I can counter enemy wards ?
Ward of revelation not only reveals stealthed enemy units it also reveals enemy wards.
Place revelation wards at the common ward locations, then destroy any wards it reveals.
WTF, I’m not buying wards I’m the carry!
Who buys the wards ? The support hero buys wards, also known as the “support bitch”
These heroes include the likes of,
. Support heroes are mainly intelligence heroes with little roles.
Don’t worry if your team has no support heroes, anybody can buy wards, just make sure your carry gets farmed.
To sum it up
- Remember to always have sight over important ganking areas
- Use Revelation wards to counter enemies Sight wards
- Place wards on the highest part of the terrain
- Dedicate one person , usually the support heroes to do the warding.
- You can block enemy neutral camps by placing a ward where the creeps would spawn

I know it’s a quick guide so you can’t say everything. Just good to mention in a moderate to high standard game, it is unlikely you will be able to ward an enemy’s forest without fighting for it.
NEVER go into enemy territory alone. You are warding spots where it is likely you will see the enemy.
Therefore, they are likely to be there, or pass there when you ward. So what will you do if you are alone warding in their forest? Usually die.
An alternative is to ward whilst ganking deep in enemy territory, or give the wards to night hound or scout etc who can do a quick run to set your team up.
Not sure if thiss will work will test tonight. Puppet show makes him attack any unit? How about this for using his ulti:
1. Slow him with your 1st spell
2. Ulti to bring up the puppet
3. Cast puppet show
If I’m correct this will make him attack the doll instead of you, dealing damage to him self while you attack him directly. If timed well with your 5th attack (crit) you can do +200% damage to him (while he is damaging him self) + get the 100% splash in to damage both him and the doll (doll takes 200% from your crit) not sure how much damage that will be but sounds like a good idea to me. (just thought of this while reading the guide, so didnt put much thought in to it >_<)

Timmy is one of those 900 PSR kind of guy.
It seems at least 95% of the people playing pubs are timmys. I myself was one, up until I recently played scout. His eyes saved us a lot, and now I buy plenty of wards with all my characters. Still, verrrrrry few people are willing to help chip in though, and even fewer buy any without prompting.
And the best part is timmys know how to benefit from wards, and take advantage of their additional sight… but they still won’t buy them even after my wards have saved them from ganks (sorry I don’t have 200 extra gold, I need to get a brutalizer on my hellbringer…), and helped them control runes etc.

Yeah i would say all the noobs in pubs refuse to buy damn wards and it is quite obvious if the other team does. they usually result in a win if 1 team buys and other team doesnt.

TJ it looks like a win to me. Everyone has to learn the game at sometime point. The advantages of a ward are not immediately obvious; especially to newbs or are just trying to stay alive.
TJ i know what you mean.. scout is such a noob hero all he does is hide hit enemy hero go back in hide
then once the enemy low you ulti he is such a noob hero and he’s only team ability is eyes
if you want to invis go nh scout is completely noob
@Ghost: Run to your enemy.
1.Hold him with Puppeteers Hold.
2.Set your Ultimate(Puppet).
3.Go invisible with Assassins Shroud while you have your 5th Hit for the Crit.
4.Hit that Puppet and see how much damage your doing with Shroud+Crit.
Thats the right way to do it and if you’ve Double Damage = GG

Have you ever realised the wards?
They are able to give you HUGE map control and doing aoe-silence, just like nh.
However back to topic: Some of your wardspots are nonsense. You should always think of what the ward reveals when placing them. And runespots really aren’t that relevant.
true said… wards at runes aren’t so usefull… why pu t ward there, at rune, when you already know that there is a rune??? 2 heroes can check rune, in about… 5-10 sec? not that much, isn’t it? injstead on place wards at runes, i prefer to buy bottle… and place wards in ours team’s forest… because when a hero is absent, it’s obviously he is farming… and when u farm, u will love 2 know when enemies are coming.
And, why put wards in their forest??? it’s also obvious that when they are not on mipmap, they farm… and if u gank, u will go all 5, so there are only 5 farm spotes in a forest… results 1 hero will check 1 spot… in 10 sec you will know where the enemy is…
@ Xero, Putting them at the runes basically reveals if a team is tanking top bot or mid most of the time.

and btw… wards it not needed. it gives you a HUGE advantage if placed right
wards giv a HUGE advantage when used rite, as ur team can monitor enemy movements in certain places. rune spots not only let u kow which runes are available, but also know if an opponent has taken a rune and is ganking in another lane. wards in ur forest would probably be better mid game where ganks take place all over the map, or if u hav an ally jungling often [e.g. war beast]. same goes for wards in opposition territory, allows u to see their movements, and ultimately sowing u those that are temporarily alone, then ur can either gank by team or let ur gank-specialist [e.g. devourer, scout, dw, nh] deal wit it.
One thing is for sure, if u seem to be dying almost always when u r alone, then its probably because they are watching ur every move.
btw scout is not a noob hero, its just that uber noobs LUV this hero, as well as chronos. so in a noob match if u see one of these heroes, its likely that its a feeder

I you are just getting banged with no hope of escape its a good idea to press “b” and spend as much money as you can on wards before you die. You would lose the money anyway
